Iris
Johnson, the Jezreel Lady
Iris was one of the most important breeder of British Shorthair cats for a
very long time. If you go back in the old pedigrees, you will hardly find
one without a Jezreel cat in it. I had the honour and privilege to meet
her, get to know her a little, visit her home and even steward for
her. I guess our interest in pedigree research and desire to improve the
breed, brought us together. |

|
Anne Rickson.
Anne also was a leading lady in the cat fancy and for the Manchester Cat
Club for a long time. She was the main registrar of pedigrees and I
sometimes wish I could stay at her place and dwell in her register. |
 |
She had a wonderful and special sense of humor. With her stern appearance
she knew she might scare off young people. So she made us
understand, that she could use fowl language, take a glass of whiskey and
loved western movies. |

|
Eiwor
Andersson.
Eiwor is still going strong and one of the worlds most famous judges, traveling
to all places. All serious siameese breeders has heard of her San-T-Ree
Cattery and benefited from her exports. |
 |
Eiwor is one of the 4 founders of our cat club,
where we both today are honorable members. She is a close friend of mine
and used to be my guru always willing to share with her great knowledge
even medical. I have known vets to consult her.
|

|
Today Eiwor's great love, besides her cats, is her horse, Maestro, a beautiful
roan. |
Lorna
Thomas
Lorna, a pillar in the Australian and Perth cat fancy and the only person
I could consider to have living in my house. We also met due to our
fanatic interest in pedigree research but it developed into much more.
Lorna used to come over and live with me for nearly two months every
autumn, before her husband became to ill to be left alone. |
 |
She judged all around Europe in the
weekends and used my place as a second home. I used to call her my extra
mum, though she is not really old enough to be that. Both of us grow up
with 3 siblings trained to work together since childhood and I sometimes
envied their efficiency, when she had her two sister to help organize a
cat show. |
Madeleine
Blondell
In 1979 I went over to Australia and had the time of my life. We were
invited to stay with cat people in various places and I spent a week with
Madeleine and her wonderful first husband, Kevin, in Surfers Paradise. I
think we spent the whole week laughing taking crazy pictures in the rain forest
or where ever we went. |
 |
She was so heartbroken when he passed away, but
I heard she has found a new guy and I hope she is happy again. You rarely
meet someone who can make you fell as good as she can.
